BUTTERBUN: WINGS ONLY!

Due to popular request, you can now get Butterbun’s Butterfly Wings as a stand-alone pattern.

I originally designed these wings as part of my Butterbun pattern which is a chubby little bunny with butterfly wings. The pattern came out a while back, and at the time, many of you asked for the wings on their own. I’m excited to let you know it’s finally here!

The wings are very versatile and you can use them on other amigurumi, or to make an actual butterfly – or as applique on clothing, bags or cushions. You can even make them in mini size as earrings.

My personal favorite application so far was lacing them onto a pair of high top sneakers.

I would love to hear what you’re using them for so please do tag me @projecatarian in your posts on social media! You can also browse the hashtags to see inspo from others: #Butterbunwings #ButterbunPattern

The first thing you might notice about these wings is that they contain a lot of colour changes. Now, I know nobody likes weaving in so many loose ends – myself included – so I specifically designed these without the need to weave in any loose ends. They are lined with a solid colour, allowing all the loose ends get sandwiched away inside.

Speaking of colours, you’ll also get a handy colouring page with the pattern, allowing you to precisely plan your entire palette and record your colour choices for every segment of the wings before you begin.

My patterns are always filled to the brim with step-by-step photos and very detailed directions so that anyone with basic crocheting skills could technically follow them, no matter the difficulty level (more difficult patterns in my collection just indicate that you’ll be learning more skills as you go)! Being an applique pattern this time, I have included a diagram along with the usual photo- and written directions, so you have even more aid towards a successful project. You can also get forum-style support from the friendly Projectarian community here.

I hope you enjoy this project and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the wings!

To let you in on what’s coming next, I’m busy preparing Styx the Tree Kangaroo’s pattern for release. Another highly requested one that’s been a long time coming. I designed this cutie for a contest and it’s finally time to get that pattern out. If you’re waiting for it, make sure you’re on my mailing list here to be notified when it’s available.

See you again soon for the next project.
