Hello Friends! I’ve missed you!
(If you just came here to get Apollo’s pattern, CLICK HERE! Otherwise read on for excited babble and cute pictures…)
I broke my laptop in December and waited six months for spares from China which just arrived last week (postal delays are so charming). Without my laptop I couldn’t do any of the digital work required for my patterns so I couldn’t release any new designs or even send newsletters. I took the time to plan our wedding which was in April (it was magical, thanks for asking ☺). Now we’re back from honeymoon and I’m working hard on catching up while making my caveman’s cave feel like home!
Rest assured, I didn’t stop designing while I was away! This workaholic wrote 13 patterns for you during the “break”! Apollo is the first of the batch coming your way. Gravity the Triceratops is next, and after that I’m going to try get my Christmas collection of 11 characters out before December. You can see previews of all of these on my Instagram under the hashtags #GravityTheTriceratops and #TinyChristmasDinnerParty.
It’s been a lifetime since my last pattern release so I decided to give you an early tidbit from Apollo’s pattern. Starting today, you can purchase the prelude for the pattern. The prelude will tell you everything you need to know to prepare for making Apollo, including yarn quantities, tools, skills, and other supplies.
Once you’ve purchased the prelude, you’ll get the rest of the pattern on its official release day (26 June) at no extra cost.
Are you ready to meet Apollo and his friends? From left to right, here is Orangutan, Socks and Apollo. Can you tell they’re a bunch of trouble-makers?
Apollo the Octopus is the most gigantic behemoth of a floppy cuddle monster! He weighs about a kilogram and gives the best hugs. I had the most fun ever posing him for pictures so there are LOTS! Scroll through to see his fun personality 🙂
You can make Apollo with or without his suckers. Yes, the suckers are a lot of work but afterwards you get to say, “LOOK AT WHAT I MADE!!!!” And everyone will think you’re crazy.
When people ask me, “Where do you keep your giant octopus?”
In a giant fishbowl, of course. Where do you keep yours?
Octopodes are highly territorial. Sometimes they fight over the fishbowl.
They’re also very intelligent and do enjoy a good book. Be a mermaid by Sarah Ford is a firm favorite among the more ambitious, like Socks.
Apollo always has his tentacles on my books…
…and literally anything else he can get his tentacles on!
These beasts are filled with fun, right to the tips of every tentacle!
Thank you for stopping by! Apollo is pleased to meet you and he can’t wait to have more friends! If you make your own giant octopus, tag me and Apollo by using @Projectarian or #ApolloTheOctopus on Facebook and Instagram. I hope you enjoy the pattern!
Greatttttt
You’re fantastic!!!!
Congratulations for your work, for your wedding, for your creativity.
????
Aww, thank you so much Marilene!
The octopus is so cute, but I had so much fun reading the article, and the humor you very cleverly inserted was hysterical. Of course keep it in a bowl! And they are very big at guarding their him and fight to protect it ( the pic was wonderful)!
Helen
Haha, thanks Helen, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😀

Lovely pattern. Sooo big. Love the suction cups (is that what they are called?)
Thanks Barbara, I’m glad you like him! Ya, I guess suction cups or suckers…? XD
Hallo, I’m Birgit Flöser from Hamburg, Germany, thank you for letting me in. I bought the pattern of the octopus, but I’m not sure, if I can manage it. I think, I’ll need some help.

Apollo is showing as Sold Out in your shop?
Sorry about that! Sometimes patterns sell out much quicker than expected and I don’t realize they’re out of stock. But somebody usually lets me know and then I restock within a few hours 😛
