ABOUT TRUFFLES
Truffles the Christmas Reindeer is one of the smallest deer species on planet Earth. So small, in fact, that most people don’t even know they exist. They live entirely concealed in the bristly branches of pine trees where they prance from limb to limb, collecting pine nuts to trade with squirrels for a fancy harness to wear. You see, all tiny reindeer aspire to live in a decorated Christmas tree of a cosy house with a lovely human family. The trouble is that they’re not very good at making their own harnesses with their clumsy hooves, but squirrels are master crafters with nimble fingers and excellent work ethic. They make the finest reindeer apparel in the land, specially for tiny reindeer to wear, so that the deer can one day hang proudly and sparkle on your Christmas tree.
ABOUT THE PATTERN
This is an advanced-level pattern for making a rather intricate little ornamental reindeer. Although a relatively quick make in comparison to my usual jumbo amigurumi, this little fellow does require patience and attention to detail for the accessories and styling that make Truffles a special keepsake.
This project requires the ability to follow written directions with confidence. Although there are many step-by-step photos to guide you, small pieces and furry stitches are hard to illustrate in pictures.

PATTERN INFO
YARN WEIGHT:
Yarn #1. Double knit, which is the equivalent to yarn weight 3, light worsted, 8 ply or 11 wpi.
Yarn #2. 4 Ply, which is the equivalent to yarn weight 2, fingering or 14 wpi.
YARDAGE: total amount = approx. 50g
FINISHED SIZE: 15 cm tall.
TERMINOLOGY: US terminology with metric sizes.
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
Although it is rated as advanced, I’ve written this pattern with lower skill levels in mind. The pattern has been thoroughly tested to ensure it’s accurate and easy to follow. If you get stuck, get forum-style help from the Projectarian community on Facebook (link in pattern).
