CHRISTMAS-A-LONG | A CAL WITH HOOKED ON SUNSHINE & FRIENDS

Yup, ANOTHER Christmas CAL! I superlove Christmas, can you tell?! This month, Hooked on Sunshine is hosting a CAL with collaborating designers, called the Hooked on Sunshine & Friends Christmas-A-Long. The CAL kicks off today, so jump on board now!

In this CAL, there are 25 different patterns from contributing designers, Hooked on Sunshine, Projectarian, M&M Crochet Designs, Granny2, Monika Mohr, and friends. My contribution to the CAL is Candycane The Christmas Unicorn!

If you’re up for wearables, baubles and decor items, have a gander at some of the other fun designs you’ll find in the CAL below. To see a full list of all the designs that will be available during the event, click here to download the CAL info.

HOW TO JOIN IN

The CAL will run from 1-25 Nov, with a new pattern being released every day throughout the event. Each pattern will become available for purchase separately on it’s release day, but if you’d like to skip the queue, you can get all patterns in one giant bundle at a discounted price on Ravelry or Hooked on Sunshine. To see which pattern is released each day, join the Hooked on Sunshine group on Facebook.

WHAT ABOUT CANDYCANE?

Well, I’m glad you asked! On her release date, Candycane’s pattern will be added to all my shops as well, so you’ll be able to get her at Projectarian Shop, Etsy, Ravelry and Hooked on Sunshine.

MORE ON CANDYCANE’S DESIGN

This magical little Christmas horse is part of my #LittleTinyHoof collection, a range of designs I used to crochet regularly, back in the day when I sold the little beasts at a handmade market. I absolutely loved making them because they work up fast, the colour combinations are endless and you can add so much individual character to each one by using different yarn textures for the pony’s hair for example, adding cute accessories like sparkly brads or poofy pompoms, or make them extra magical with metallic yarns.

This particular pattern will teach you how to work colour stripes in a spiral, as seen on her legs, and how to embroider her easy facial features. She’s almost entirely crocheted in one piece so the only hand sewing you’re left with is attaching her tail, her horn and the 3 red holly berries on her neckband – that’s it!

Candycane is a fast, fun and charming model which works up quickly enough that you can make an entire herd for hanging from your Christmas tree. In fact, if I wasn’t busy designing a tortoise pattern at record speed to get it released before the end of the year, I guarantee you would see my own tree rustling with a stampede of tiny unicorns! I am however counting on you to fulfill the quest and show me pictures so I can live vicariously through you this festive season!!!

Of course, she also makes an adorably fun toy, with her stylable hair and poseable legs!

I hope you enjoy Candycane’s pattern and remember, I have a second Christmas pattern also coming out in November, as part of the Holly Jolly Christmas CAL! If you like Candycane, I bet you’ll like the next one too! If you want to be notified when these patterns become available, join my mailing list!

Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see your next Projectarian project 🙂
